Next Practices
What are the next Best Practices in your area of ministry or business? In the April issue of Harvard Business Review , I learned a ton about staying on the cutting edge of innovation. We don’t want to stay in perpetual “catch up mode” with competitors; rather we want to be benchmarking the Next Practices.
- For example is your approach to fundraising fresh and engaging? Do you have a well-defined process for your givers to participate in non-liquid giving? If not, consider sitting down with the National Christian Foundation local affiliate in your area and map out a giving game plan for donors. Why don’t you become an industry leader, as the standard for creative fundraising? Next practices are new and invite creativity!.
- Next practices take a blank sheet of paper and create compelling alternatives that organizations, teams and constituents can’t live without. Perhaps you start saving 10% of every dollar that comes into your organization. Escrow these funds into a separate account with the goal of building a year worth of operating capital. Maybe you call it a Joseph Fund, based on the Old Testament Patriarch’s bold initiative to prepare for famine and the feeding of millions (Genesis 41:36). .”
- Join me in making Next Practices a normal part of our learning and leadership..”
