Ministering to Givers
One idea we like to apply at Ministry Ventures is giving gifts to givers that facilitate spiritual growth. One example is Max Lucado’s book, In Case You Ever Wonder. This book is beautifully written to small children and is even appropriate for infants. It’s all about the Lord’s love for little ones. So any time we hear of a new baby in our donor family (could be a child or a grandchild), we send a copy of the book with a personal note to the newborn in the front.
- I love ordering books from Amazon and mailing them as gifts. Most recently, I wrote personal notes to 30 donors and sent each one Mentor Like Jesus by Regi Campbell. Several called or emailed to say how blessed they were by the book.
- Supporters of your ministry love being loved on. Four months ago, a donor friend of 16 years and I began meeting monthly at different barbecue restaurants around town - so far, everything from Houston’s (high end) to Swallow in the Hollow (the other end). We love the food, and the fellowship is even better.
- So ask yourself, “How do my givers want to be served and loved on?” Pray specifically about how you can bless them spiritually. Givers loved to be loved on.
