Philosophy of Fundraising Part II
Fundraising is relational.
- Relational implies that you have the givers’ best interests in mind. What are your donors’ ministry passions? Does your calling to ministry intersect or align with their passions? Understanding their passions means you manage your relational portfolio with prayer and persistence. You write a note of encouragement or a letter of appreciation.
- Unequivocally, you are first and foremost concerned about the relationship. Maybe you provide a quiet dinner for another couple, just to catch up. Or, you do life together in prayer, Bible study, or a fun activity. Relationships are your greatest asset. People are more valuable than money; they are precious and are a gift from God. Your consistent relational investment is like dollar cost averaging; over time your relational equity compounds exponentially!
- Who needs your time investment today? What old friend can you reach out to?
