A Kingdom Perspective in Fundraising

  • God’s ways differ from man’s ways (Isaiah 55:8-9). This is certainly true in the area of fundraising. God is interested in funding His kingdom, while we tend to focus only on our own ministry. There is a commonly held “scarcity mentality” among sincere ministry leaders, rather than trusting God and having an “abundance mentality” since He does own everything (I Chronicles 29:11-12).
  • Why is this distinction important? Kingdom thinking is important because it is God’s view of how to wisely use His resources, and it is ultimately what He blesses the most. Not only does God own all of the funds needed, He also owns the donor. When we hold a donor relationship with an open hand, we are truly trusting God. Our role as fundraisers is to minister to the donor, share the vision God has given us, and trust Him with the results.
